Since its launch in 2019, Apple TV+ has quickly risen to prominence as a top-tier streaming service, despite being one of the newer players in the market. Owned by Apple, this platform boasts a rich catalog of exclusive original content, including critically acclaimed series like "Ted Lasso" and "Severance," and blockbuster films such as "Killers of the Flower Moon." While Apple TV+ may not churn out new releases as rapidly as giants like Netflix, its affordable pricing and the inclusion of a free trial with every new Apple device purchase make it an attractive option for viewers looking to dive into its expanding library. In this guide, we'll explore the essence of Apple TV+, its pricing structure, and how to access a free trial.
Apple TV+ offers a 7-day free trial to all new subscribers. To start your trial, simply visit the Apple TV+ homepage or open the app, where you'll find an "Accept Free Trial" button. Additionally, new purchases of iPhones, iPads, Apple TVs, and Mac computers come with a complimentary 3-month trial of Apple TV+, which you can activate through the Apple TV app on your device. Remember, once your trial period concludes, your subscription will automatically renew at the standard rate of $9.99 per month.
Apple TV+ is an award-winning streaming service that specializes in Apple Originals, offering exclusive series, movies, documentaries, and more, with fresh content added monthly. Starting with a modest lineup in 2019, Apple TV+ has since expanded to feature over 180 series, including hits like "Ted Lasso," "Severance," and "Silo," alongside more than 80 original films, including Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon." Notably, Apple TV+ made history as the first streaming service to win an Academy Award for its original film "CODA" in 2022.
While its library may not rival the sheer volume of Netflix, Apple TV+ focuses on quality over quantity, ensuring a diverse range of content that appeals to viewers of all ages.
Apple TV+ stands out as one of the most cost-effective streaming services, priced at just $9.99 per month. With no ads by default, subscribers enjoy uninterrupted viewing without the hassle of ad-supported or limited tiers.
Apple TV+ frequently offers enticing deals, and currently, new subscribers can enjoy a 70% discount, paying only $2.99 per month for their first three months instead of the regular $9.99.
In addition to standalone subscriptions, Apple TV+ is part of the Apple One bundle. The basic Apple One plan, priced at $19.95 per month, includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and a 50GB iCloud+ plan. For those seeking more, the Premier Apple One plan at $37.95 per month adds Apple News+, Apple Fitness+, and upgrades your iCloud+ storage to 2TB.
Current college or university students can access a special Apple Music plan that includes Apple TV+ for just $5.99 per month, a significant discount from the standalone Apple Music price of $10.99 per month.
Apple TV also offers a separate subscription for Major League Soccer streams through the MLS Season Pass, starting at $14.99 per month. Apple TV+ subscribers receive a $2 discount on this service.
Apple TV+ is accessible on all Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV set-top boxes. Beyond Apple's ecosystem, you can stream Apple TV+ on a wide range of smart TVs, Roku devices, Amazon Fire TV devices, Google TV devices, as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles. For devices without the native Apple TV+ app, you can use AirPlay to stream content from an Apple device.
