Building a new gaming PC? The search for the perfect processor ends here. The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D AM5 desktop processor is back in stock at Amazon and Best Buy, priced at $479. This is the official retail price—no inflated markups or unwanted bundles. For gamers, it's currently the top performer, outpacing both AMD and Intel competitors.
Update: Also available at Best Buy, though you might encounter a queue.
AMD's X3D series excels in gaming, outperforming even AMD's standard CPUs thanks to its 3D V-Cache technology. While capable of multitasking, rendering, and content creation, its core count makes it less ideal for those intensive tasks. At $479, it's a significant $110 cheaper than the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K ($589) and $170 less than the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, yet delivers superior gaming performance. Unless you're a dedicated Intel user or are committed to AM4, the 9800X3D is the clear winner for your next gaming build.

In our AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D review, Jackie Thomas stated:
"The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is exceptionally powerful in games, making it a more compelling choice than recent processors like the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K or Ryzen 9 9900X. Especially when paired with a high-end graphics card, the 9800X3D maximizes GPU performance."
