For a limited time, Amazon is offering an incredible deal on the new Crucial T500 2TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe solid state drive, complete with a pre-installed heatsink, for just $132.99, including free shipping. Launched in October 2023, the Crucial T500 is among the top-performing PCIe 4.0 SSDs available today. This versatile SSD is perfect for upgrading your PS5 console thanks to its pre-installed heatsink, or for serving as a high-speed boot drive in your gaming PC due to its DRAM cache.
Originally priced at $209.99, you can now save 37% and get it for just $132.99 at Amazon. The T500, powered by Crucial, is a premium PCIe 4.0 solid state drive featuring a Phison E25 controller and 232-layer Micron TLC NAND flash memory. It's renowned for its high performance, boasting sequential read/write speeds of 7,300/6,800MB/s and random read/write speeds of 1.15M/1.44M IOPs. It competes directly with top-tier SSDs like the WD Black SN850X, Samsung 990 Pro, and SK Hynix P41 Platinum, yet it's currently the most affordable option among them. The Crucial T500 also includes a dedicated LPDDR4 DRAM cache, a feature that sets it apart from other SSDs in its price range, which often use HMB or system memory. This SSD is backed by a robust 5-year warranty.
The Crucial T500 is an excellent choice for upgrading your PlayStation 5 console. It meets all of Sony's requirements, including a minimum read speed of 5,500MB/s and a PCI-Express Gen4x4 interface. The pre-installed aluminum heatsink ensures optimal performance without additional costs or installation hassles.
In recent console generations, gamers were often limited by the built-in storage capacity. However, with the PS5, Sony introduced a game-changing feature—an internal M.2 PCIe slot that allows you to easily expand your storage with off-the-shelf SSDs. This move was particularly appreciated given the modest 825GB of internal storage and Sony's history with expensive proprietary memory solutions. Now, you can enhance your console with high-end PC SSDs like our top pick, the Corsair MP600 Pro LPX, which offers loading times nearly as fast as the PS5's internal drive.
