Apple has just unveiled the highly anticipated 2025 MacBook Air, now available in both 13- and 15-inch models, powered by the cutting-edge M4 chip. This update significantly enhances the performance, making it the top choice for most laptop users. If you're considering upgrading your device, preorders are now open at Amazon. The new MacBook Air continues to offer flexibility with its 13-inch and 15-inch options, catering to different needs for portability and screen size. The 13-inch version is priced at a competitive $999, a $100 reduction from the previous generation, while the 15-inch model starts at $1,199. Both models feature the powerful M4 chip, boasting a baseline configuration of a 10-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. For those seeking even more power, customization options are available, including up to a 10-core GPU, 32GB of RAM, and 2TB of storage.
Aesthetically, the 2025 MacBook Air introduces a fresh color option: Sky Blue, a subtle blue-tinted silver. Alongside this new hue, you can choose from Midnight (black), Starlight (gold), and Silver. Note that Space Gray is no longer an option. Each MacBook Air will come with a matching MagSafe charging cable.
On the technical front, the built-in webcam, dubbed the "Center Stage camera" by Apple, has been upgraded to a 12-megapixel camera, promising clearer and more vibrant video calls.
While the upgrade from last year's model may not be essential for everyone, Apple claims the M4 chip makes the new MacBook Air twice as fast as the M1 version, offering a significant performance boost. For users still using Intel-based MacBooks, the upgrade is even more substantial, with Apple stating it's 23 times faster than the latest Intel MacBook.
The launch of a new MacBook is an excellent opportunity to find deals on previous generations. If the latest specs aren't a must-have for you, consider these discounted options from last year's lineup:
