Eric Barone, le développeur de Stardew Valley connu sous le nom de ConcernedApe, a récemment révélé qu'une mise à jour 1.7 est en préparation. Cette annonce a d'abord été faite lors d'un concert Stardew Valley : Symphony of Seasons, puis confirmée par Barone sur Twitter (X). Les détails spécifiques concernant le nouveau contenu n'ont pas encore été partagés.

"Après la mise à jour 1.6, je pensais qu'il n'y en aurait pas d'autre", a déclaré Barone au public. "Mais ce soir, je veux partager un petit secret : il va y avoir encore une mise à jour."

Depuis son lancement en 2016, ce jeu de simulation agricole populaire a reçu plusieurs mises à jour et extensions gratuites, toutes développées par Barone seul. Son dévouement a porté ses fruits, car Stardew Valley continue de gagner en popularité près d'une décennie après sa sortie. En effet, le point bas de l'année dernière, avec près de 89 000 joueurs simultanés sur Steam, s'est approché du pic d'avant 2024 qui était de 94 897.

L'annonce a été accueillie par des acclamations bruyantes, d'autant plus que la mise à jour 1.6 plus tôt cette année était censée être la dernière — du moins jusqu'à la sortie du prochain jeu de Barone, Haunted Chocolatier. "Stardew Valley me distrait et m'empêche de me concentrer entièrement sur Haunted Chocolatier... Je me suis engagé à ne pas travailler sur Stardew Valley tant que Haunted Chocolatier n'est pas terminé", a expliqué Barone à PC Gamer en avril.

Haunted Chocolatier, annoncé pour la première fois en 2021, devrait être encore plus vaste que Stardew Valley. Si les fans étaient ravis de cette nouvelle mise à jour, certains s'inquiétaient qu'elle ne retarde le développement du nouveau jeu.
