Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown

Love Sudoku? Want to challenge friends or compete as a team? Battle of Sudoku is a multiplayer version of the classic puzzle game. The goal remains the same: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each column, row, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Gameplay:

Before starting, choose a difficulty level (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest). This sets the initial numbers on the grid, which all players must solve simultaneously. All players see the identical puzzle.

Two game modes are available:

• Show Opponent's Correct Numbers: Each correctly placed number is visible to all players. Only the first player to correctly place a number earns points for that number. Placing a number already used by another player earns no points.
• Hide Opponent's Correct Numbers: Players cannot see each other's correct numbers. This allows multiple players to earn points for the same number.

Time-Outs:

Incorrectly placed numbers result in a time-out (default 30 seconds, configurable). The penalized player is temporarily unable to make moves.

Points:

Correct numbers earn points, with higher difficulty levels awarding more points per correct number. Incorrect numbers deduct points (half the value of a correct number).

Winning:

The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. In the "Hide Opponent's Correct Numbers" mode, the game ends when one player solves the puzzle, although this doesn't grant extra points; other players can still win based on fewer mistakes.

Team Play:

A team mode allows two teams to compete. Players choose a team (1 or 2) upon joining. At least two players per team are required. Points are added to the team's total score, and notes/filled colors are shared within the team, facilitating collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar provides tools to aid in solving:

• Pen Tool: Add notes (mini-numbers) to squares. Selecting a number already present removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares.
