Ответ прост: 2025 год отмечает дебют Шахмата в качестве официальной дисциплины на чемпионате мира по футболу (EWC) в Эр -Рияде, который может похвастаться массовым призом в 1,5 миллиона долларов. EWC, который ежегодно проводит в Саудовской Аравии, является главным мировым чемпионатом киберспорта.

Первоначально с участием только пять дисциплин (Dota 2, Pubg, Rocket League, FIFA и CS: GO) в рамках фестиваля Gamers8 Gamers8, EWC взорвался в размерах, теперь охватывая 25 дисциплин. Амбициозная цель Саудовской Аравии - стать «глобальным центром киберспорта» к 2030 году.

Запланированный на июнь по август 2025 года, EWC предлагает ошеломляющий призовой фонд за 60 миллионов долларов. Важно отметить, что в конкурсе используется общая система таблиц, награждая баллы командам, финишируя восьми лучших во всех дисциплинах.
