Beginner's Guide to Building Ultimate Defense

Apr 09,2025 Author: Emily

If you're diving into the world of *Build Defense* on *Roblox*, you're in for a thrilling mix of survival and construction. This game might remind you of *Minecraft* at a glance, but it's actually closer to the original *Fortnite*—a nod to those who remember the building-focused early days. In *Build Defense*, you'll craft a base using blocks while fending off various threats like monster attacks, tornadoes, bombs, or even alien invasions. It's a fun yet challenging experience, which is why we've put together this Beginner's Guide to help you navigate and enjoy the game to its fullest.

Build Defense Beginner’s Guide

Below, you'll find essential tips that we wish we knew when we first started playing. Implementing these will not only make the game more enjoyable but also help you progress more quickly.

The object of the game is to survive…

When you're dropped into your world and onto your plot of land, it's easy to think that the goal is to protect it. However, the real objective is to survive—simply put, don't die. The game will throw all sorts of hazards at you, and your mission is to outlast them. Ideally, you'll do this by constructing a robust defense on your plot, but if things get hairy, you can also roam around the map until the threat passes (we've tried it, and it works wonders). Every time you survive, you earn a "Win" along with in-game currency. Accumulating Wins is key to advancing in the game. So, keep your eyes on the screen messages, and focus on staying alive. With that in mind…

… dying is completely normal

Don't sweat it if you die. It's going to happen, and quite frequently at that. But fear not, as the consequences are minimal. You'll respawn instantly, lose your current items, and fail the ongoing enemy wave, but these setbacks are manageable. You can repurchase your weapons and items, and your structures remain intact against monster and disaster damage. New attack waves come every two minutes, giving you plenty of chances to regroup and try again. In essence, all you're really losing is a bit of time, which isn't a big deal.

Build high, not low

At first, we thought encircling our plot with walls would keep the monsters at bay, but it proved less effective than we hoped. The need to enter and exit the base created vulnerabilities that monsters exploited. A smarter strategy is to construct a tall staircase leading to a high platform. When night falls, ascend and wait out the danger. The steep stairs will cause many monsters to fall, and any that reach the top can be met with a barrage of turrets. This approach is nearly foolproof and will help you survive most nights.

Don’t just build, explore!

Beyond your plot, the island is brimming with activities. You can interact with other players, trade your ores, and even embark on quests. Most quests require a certain number of Wins to unlock, but some, like the Gingerbread’s House quest, are immediately accessible. Completing these quests is beneficial as they unlock new and exciting building components.

The “Shop” isn’t just for premium items

As you advance in the game, don't overlook the Shop. Most items there can be purchased with in-game currency. You'll need to rack up some Wins first, so play a bit before exploring the Shop. Also, remember to join the Swiftplay Roblox group, and like, favorite, and follow the game for a free gift.

When you’re ready, move to the next area

Once you've accumulated 190 Wins, you can transition to the next area and restart the cycle. You'll encounter new disasters, quests, and building techniques.

That's the gist of it. Enjoy your time surviving and constructing in Build Defense. Don't forget to check out our Build Defense codes for some awesome in-game freebies.

Atomfall Devs Expected Fallout Comparisons; Game Takes About 25 Hours to Complete

At first glance, you might mistake Atomfall for a Fallout-style game. Perhaps, even, an *actual* Fallout game set in a post-apocalyptic England rather than a post-apocalyptic America. Atomfall is first-person, it’s post-nuclear (it’s called Atomfall for a reason), and it has an alt-history design, a
